Synthesizing Evidence-Based Strategies and Community-Engaged Research

This article, Synthesizing Evidence-Based Strategies and Community-Engaged Research: A Model To Address Social Determinants of Health, reports on the implementation of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services/National Institutes of Health/Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Rapid Assessment, Response, and Evaluation (RARE) process to evaluate social determinants of health on childhood obesity in a southwestern U.S. city. It presents an overview of the process to implement the inquiry and makes recommendation for improving health outcomes for youth in the studied region.
