This is a special census, conducted every 5 years by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). It provides data on any plot of land that produces more than $1,000 worth of fruit, vegetables, or livestock in a year. Here is a summary of the data for Colorado to see what kinds of information comes out of this survey. One can find information on farms, crops, costs, demographics of farm operators (by race, sex, income, etc.), and more.
